Finished and ready to be inaugurated – an event which is coming soon – is the Footbridge in Chaves, a construction project by ACF.
The contract, whose general contractor was ACF, includes the construction of a footbridge over the river Tâmega, in Chaves, included in the Polis Program, connecting the Tabolado Garden and the Public Garden. This Work of Art is of delicate dimensions with great transparency and a modern design, decisively marking the current period. The main element, which is the cable support tower situated on the left bank, is on a green area and easily merges into the landscape. The local conditions dictated the insertion of the work in the existing landscape. The work is made up of five main units: a ramp and northern support in reinforced concrete; a cable-stayed bridge, with a metal bridge floor spanning 60 000m; a square and southern ramp on the left bank; a metal cable support tower; four cables made up of high resistance steel wire.
 The construction of the Footbridge in Chaves was the responsibility of the Company Arlindo Correia & Filhos, S.A., which shaped the project designed by Triede S.A. (Mário Veloso, Engineer). ACF builds OPENSPACE CELEIRÓS – new Business Centre in BragaWith ACF’s construction warranty

ACF’s Concrete Plant has a new product called Cellular Lightweight Concrete. There are numerous potential uses for this product, of which we highlight: a more economical and faster construction; better thermal and acoustic characteristics; easily pumpable product; high profitability and ease of placement and, lastly, the lack of compaction and vibration.
LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE’S RANGE OF APPLICATION:
Insulation Concrete – for thermal and acoustic insulation Mass Concrete – used for filling piping, support walls, in galleries and tunnels that require a fill that is safe, complete and without shrinkage Levelling Concrete – can be placed in one go, without needing to resort to compaction and vibration, allowing for a self-levelling application even on large surfaces Construction and Flooring Concrete – can be used as concrete for cleaning, laying and piping cover, and to correct slabs and paving. The companies ACF -Arlindo Correia & Filhos S.A – and Construções Europa Ar-Lindo were awarded the tender launched by Braga’s City Hall to create a public and private partnership that will build the main sports and leisure structures of the council valued in the amount of 58.5 million euros. This project includes: the Auditorium and the Head Office of the Parish Council of Sequeira; the São Vicente Multipurpose Hall; nine sports pavilions; the installation of synthetic floors and the repair of the locker rooms in the sports grounds in 36 parishes; the construction of two new sports grounds; the country park of Monte Picoto; the 2nd phase of the Olympic-size swimming pool and the Multiuse pavilion. |

One of the main priorities of this executive is the focus on quality and certification, continuing with the strong commitment on behalf of the Board of Directors of ACF, S.A. since 2002, when the implementation of a Quality Management System began in accordance with the recognised standard NP EN ISO 9001.
The effort of the entire organization in implementing the Quality Management System, resulted in the Quality Management Certification in December 2003, which was obtained after a strict audit carried out by the certification body EIC – Empresa Internacional de Certificação (International Certification Body), with authorization by IPQ – Instituto Português da Qualidade (Portuguese Institute of Quality).
Following the good practices acquired throughout this period, the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Hygiene System was carried out in 2006 according to the recognised standard NP4397/OHSAS 18001, and in the 1st semester of 2007, the company obtained the Certification in Occupational Health, Hygiene and Safety.
More recently, in 2008, the company developed the necessary audit phases to obtain the Certification of its Environmental Management System in accordance with the recognised standard ISO 14001. At this moment, and after the execution of the referred to audits, we are finishing the last preparations to issue the respective Certificate of Compliance with ISO 14001.
One of the goals of the ACF, S.A. company is to systematically improve and to ensure the maximum quality of its products and services in order to satisfy the clients' expectations.
